How to play
Tap the button to start the clock. Tap again to stop it. Try to stop it on exactly 10.00 seconds.
The clock shows hundredths of a second, and that's exactly what you're scored on. There's no hidden extra precision: what you see is what you get.
Scoring
The closer you stop to 10.00, the better:

Solo
Every Solo run is exactly 10 goes, so every score can be compared fairly. Your session score is the total points from all 10 goes.
The first time you play Solo, you choose a name for the daily leaderboard. After each run you'll see how you rank against everyone else who has played that day. The ranking appears once at least 5 people have played. The daily leaderboard resets at midnight UTC (1am UK time in summer).
Your personal best and your count of Exact Tens are kept on your device.
Redemption Go
If you finish a Solo run just short of your best score, or just behind the next player on today's leaderboard, you may be offered a Redemption Go: watch a short ad and retake your worst go of the run.
The new result replaces your worst go, even if it turns out worse. You get one Redemption Go per run.
Multiplayer
Pass one phone around. Choose 1 to 8 players and 1 to 10 goes each. Players take turns in order, one go each, until everyone has had all their goes.
The closest single go wins, and the furthest loses. Tied players share a place.
FAQ
Why didn't my tap stop the clock straight away?
For the first quarter of a second after you start, the clock ignores taps. This stops an accidental double tap from counting as both start and stop.
Is the timing the same on every phone?
The Game records the moment your finger touches the screen, but phones, browsers and screens vary a little. Small differences between devices are normal.
How do I change my leaderboard name?
Tap Settings on the home screen.
Why have my personal best and stats disappeared?
They're stored in your browser on this device. Clearing your browser data, using private browsing or switching to another phone or browser starts them fresh. Your past leaderboard entries aren't affected.
Can I play it like an app?
Yes. On iPhone, open exactten.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome, tap the menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app.
How do I remove my name and scores from the leaderboard?
Email hello@exactten.com with the name you used and roughly when you played.
I've seen an offensive name on the leaderboard.
Please email hello@exactten.com with the name and the date, and we'll remove it.
